Gloves designed and produced exclusively by Diana Martinez for the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza.

Inspired by the work Diptych of the Annunciation (Jan van Eyck, 1433 - 1435).

Materials: 100% goat's hair (premohair) 

The intention and spirit of this piece is to interpret both the pictorial effect of the sculptural trompe l'oeil of Van Eyck's grisaille technique and the purity of the Virgin's hands.

To do this, the artisan has used a unique material of extreme purity: goat's hair produced by the Madrid-based Lanas Alondra, which forms part of her archive of extraordinary yarns.

Only this material, knitted by hand with different numbers of interchanged steel needles, allows the pieces to take on sculptural forms per se, without a pattern.
