This glossary is a guide to approach, through the Thyssen-Bornemisza collections, a subject as current and controversial as decolonial thought, and forms part of the exhibition Colonial Memory in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collections. It is the first in a series of publications that address, through the vocabulary used in them - often not very accessible - issues that are part of the current cultural debate.

The selection of terms stems from questions that have arisen in the process of developing the exhibition. It is not, however, intended to be an exhaustive glossary, but rather a tool to guide and suggest new questions to the reader, so that he or she can continue researching the subject. It is a publication to be intervened, annotated, annotated, crossed out, rewritten and expanded. It is not just a text to be read, or a vocabulary to be consulted, it is above all a map and a travelogue.
