What era is a painting from? Who painted it? What does it explain to us? Because we like it? How does it get us excited? We all ask ourselves these and many other questions when we admire a work of art and, most of the time, we do not know how to answer it. This book offers those answers and allows the reader to penetrate the intimacy of each painting to approach art from a new perspective. The work is organized around the six main axes that help to understand a painting. From its analysis as a simple object that must be dated and from which the characteristics must be unraveled (materials used, technique, support ...) to the pictorial style, passing through the theme, composition, drawing and color, and the treatment of the human figure.
