"Pablo Picasso" was first published in Spanish in 1946. Its original nucleus, however, is to be found in the French edition of 1930, in which Ors and Picasso worked in close collaboration, the former preparing a text that was to be the effective realization, in the Picasso of that time, of his aesthetic ideals-Ors wanted to study, in particular, what was classical, Italian and anti-impressionist in his paintings-; the latter, selecting and preparing the illustrations that were to illuminate the writer's words. The work we present today, in which we have significantly reunited the text of the Spanish edition with 37 illustrations from the French edition, is more than a critical analysis of Picasso's work, it is the testimony of the culmination of a friendship and, at the same time, an essential study for anyone who wishes to approach the artistic thought of two of the most representative figures of the twentieth century.
