Picasso and Lautrec never met in person, but the affinities and correspondences between the works of both artists make evident a common interest in the same themes.
The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum presents the first exhibition in which these concordances are related in detail. The caricatured portraits, the night of cabarets, cafés or theatres, the marginal world, the circus or the erotic universe of brothels are recurring themes in Lautrec's work that appear again in the work of the young Picasso and that will return with renewed force in his final period.
