Aitor Martínez, known as "Aitor Punto," dedicates himself to woodturning in all its forms. His workshop and studio are also his home, the place where he can give form to his emotions. It's a light-filled space where he feels freer than anywhere else, and it's the physical space that best represents him.
His specialty, and what he's most passionate about, is working with green wood, which, as it dries, becomes part of the creative process, taking on its own shapes and volumes. It's a way of experimenting with living material and is the central focus of his work.
Except for special commissions, the wood he uses comes from local forests. He firmly believes in using local resources. He prefers oak and occasionally ash, with oak being the wood he most identifies with.
After two years practicing this craft on his own, he was selected to pursue the "Long Training" at the Escoulen School in France, where he was able to consolidate his training, becoming the first Spaniard to complete this training with true masters such as Yann Marot and Alain Mailland.
