Vacía la Nevera

Rubén Morales was born in Madrid in the early eighties. From childhood, he showed a great creative calling, with "Drawing" being his favorite subject in school. He grew up immersed in the world of jewelry, inheriting the family trade: he spent long hours in the workshop observing his mother delicately manipulate pieces and his uncles melt metals, while he took the opportunity to draw his first earrings, rings, and necklaces.

Everyday life transformed into sculptural art

Over time, he decided to professionalize his passion and studied Fashion Design at IED, later specializing in Jewelry with the aim of creating pieces that functioned as small sculptures. With limited financial resources, but full of enthusiasm, he founded "Vacía la Nevera" (Empty the Fridge), an artisanal brand created for those people who, like him, prioritize art and personal whims.
Morales's source of inspiration lies in everyday objects, to which he gives new meaning. His "Jewels in Cans" collection has become a customer favorite, standing out for its ring, earring, and pendant designs in the shape of vintage cans that include porcelain details.

The Creative Process and International Projection

Beyond the final piece, for Rubén, the creative process is the heart of his project. From conceptualization and sketching to visual image direction, each collection is born from a story, a memory, or a feeling. An example of this artistic commitment was the presentation of "En Blanco," where he directed a cast of dancers and actors to convey the essence of his work, achieving a profound emotional connection with the audience.

Currently, Morales is in a constant search for new ideas, with the firm purpose of continuing to surprise. With a consolidated international vision, the designer finds great satisfaction in knowing that his creations—small fragments of his own vision of life—reach people all over the world through new points of sale and the online channel, and that his pieces are part of emblematic spaces such as the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum shop.
