Project conceptualized and developed by the Education Department/EducaThyssen.
Art Lesson encompasses multiple readings, from the most literal to the most ironic, as it is also a <>. It speaks of the relationship between art and different audiences and the educational strategies that aim to connect them. To do so, we work on the management and generation of knowledge and propose reflections on who generates it and where, why it is created, who receives it and how, how it is transmitted or who gives authority to that knowledge.
Traditionally, exhibitions in museum contexts have a linear development. This project questions this model and proposes other ways of reading objects/artefacts from the past from a contemporary perspective. Art Lesson speaks of the emancipation of the public and how, through their contributions, they can, if not change the idea of the museum as we know it, transform their place in this institution.
