Set of porcelain toothpick rests designed and produced exclusively by Lladró for the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza.
Inspired by the work Young Knight in a Landscape (Vittore Carpaccio, ca. 1505).
The Ermine and Crane footrest show two of the animals that appear in Carpaccio's ‘Young Knight in a Landscape’ (1505). This painting by the Venetian Renaissance master shows a warrior posing in the midst of a richly decorated landscape composed of another knight, architecture, plants and numerous animals, all depicted with great detail and delicacy.
The long-tailed stoat and the common crane, with their elegant, stylised lines, are transformed into original footrests in an encounter between aesthetics and functionality that is the essential characteristic of these two creations.
Lladró's pieces for the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, as well as the rest of the Lladró catalogue, are the result of a laborious process of craftsmanship that takes place, from start to finish, at the brand's headquarters in Valencia. A perfect gift for lovers of art and craftsmanship.
